FMS Service
The Flow Measurement Service (FMS) is the CygNet Software service that retrieves data, including electronic flow meter (EFM) data, from various sources for CygNet Measurement. The CygNet Measurement system retrieves, stores, validates, estimates, analyzes, edits, and approves the data for reporting to external systems. The FMS service functions as the interface between the Microsoft SQL Server database and the SCADA system. Optionally, the supplied FMS internal database can be used in appropriate production environments.
With the introduction of CygNet Software v9.8, CygNet Measurement is delivered with a 64-bit FMS service, providing improved efficiency and performance over the 32-bit FMS service.
Setting up the service requires a service folder, and its configuration file must be edited to reflect the instance of the service; it must have an entry in the Address Resolution Service (ARS), and a record in the Remote Service Manager (RSM).
